Hey there!
I am Sneha Nemichand, certified yoga teacher and founder of Connect and Grow.
My Story
Like most other things in my life, I owe it to my Ma for introducing me to yoga. She was keen on taking me to her yoga classes in Mysuru, India. These were run by expert instructors in the community at mostly no cost to anyone who wanted to learn and grow their yoga practice. I wish I could go on to say that I have been practicing yoga ever since (it would now equate to over a decade of practicing yoga!), but I did not. I found my way back to yoga after nearly 8 years of discontinuing it, when I felt a spiritual need in a challenging time. I started practicing at home by watching YouTube videos. This time I reconnected with yoga in a more philosophical way and grew passionate about sharing it with those around me, which lead me to start my journey as a yoga teacher.
In the Fall of 2020, I scratched the surface of this deep subject of yoga with an amazing group of people and completed my 200h training. Needless to say this was a period of extensive growth. I grew not just in terms of my yoga practice but also in the understanding of what drew me to yoga and where I wanted to go from here.
Through yoga and meditation, I have found a sense of communal belonging, I am working towards building psychological resiliency and discovering tools that enable me to spend greater parts of my day in calmness and clarity.
Connect and Grow is born out of the desire to bring my yoga training to the community and offer classes where people can learn to connect with themselves and with those who they practice. Yoga has given me the ability to notice what is going on within my body and my mind. It has allowed me to pause my day, let go for a little bit, get in sync with my breathing and use it to connect with my lively mind.

One thing that fascinates me the most about yoga is its power of inclusivity, that it is for everyone and it can be what you need it to be! Whether you need it to relieve pain, build strength, sleep better, relax and rest, lose weight, improve flexibility, or just be a social activity… yoga creates a space for you. There can be many variations to suit what you seek, so long as you find a knowledgeable instructor who you can work with.

Each person’s definition of yoga and their practice of yoga is unique to themselves. Currently, yoga for me is the ability to understand my body. It is bit of art and science to discover how my body feels on the inside, how it likes and does not like to move, what affects it and how I could use it to connect with my mind. Through my practice, I am learning (every day) to better connect with my body and mind. Just as my body continues to develop strength and flexibility through asanas, so does my mind through understanding myself and those around me.

In many ways, my yoga practice lets me Connect and Grow, with myself and with those around me.
I have found a sense of belonging in practicing yoga with a group of people and becoming a part of their journey of self discovery.

And now, I am excited to share this journey with you all!
